Having lived in St James Court for over a decade, I thought it was time to put some effort and time to try and make the place we call home a better place to live.
I had been to some of the tenants group before and had given my opinion on some subjects but things did not seem to change so hearing that a new group had formed, I decided to go along and see who or what were on the committee. They had been in control since April, things were beginning to get done.
I had volunteered to be on the new group as they were looking for new residents to be on it. Thanks to a lot of effort and organisation by the Tenants Group, lots of things were getting done, such as security lighting outside and the forecourt outside cleaned by the council. Some of us went to other flats for ideas and some met with police on outside disturbances by youths, and vandalism to cars and garages.
We meet every Sunday about 4:30 to bring all our inputs up-to-date and future meetings with Pennine staff. Below are our hard-working group:
Richard Guillot, Chair
Barbara Gunshon, Treasurer
Janet Wilson, Vice Chair
Margaret Wyatt
Val Brown
George Barton
Lesley Denton
and myself, Ronald Cameron
