3. Matters Arising from Special Subject Meeting Held on 30th November.

Iris read a letter from Gillian West in reply to some of the questions that she was unable to answer on the night. No satisfactory answer regarding Hepstenstalls, We decided to contact her again about their question about Valley View. We were informed that there was to be a public meeting, regarding this problem.

A Pennine Consultation Event is to be held on 6th Feb at Heath training centre 1pm - 4.30 concerning Stakeholders in Older People. Maybe a better explanation will come from this.

4. Management Meeting held on the 11th January

This had to be abandoned as not enough people were able to attend. This meeting was rescheduled for 4pm January 25th.

It was decided at this meeting that management meetings be held on Tuesday afternoons at 2pm and that new office opening times will also to be changed to Tuesdays 2-4pm.

5. Treasurers report Approved

6. Child Protection Policy. Val to bring to next management meeting.

7. A number of written reports were handed out from tenants who go to meetings on our behalf. An omission was picked up, the possibility of a celebration event to mark the end of 5 yrs working with Lovell's and Keepmoat had been discussed.

8. Iris has had a word with Kath, the lady who has been giving some of us IT training, and her prices are more realistic than the college. College rates are much higher per hour + admin. Kath's rates because she is self employed are £20 per hour, it was agreed that we pay Kath for the IT training in the office. Tonight, four people have said they were interested in attending. Letters will be sent out asking for names of interested tenants. Dates and times for training to be arranged.

9. Homing in Magazine. No mention of the Federation in it. Val explained that in the near future another magazine is to be published, thismust include federation tenant involvement, It was suggested that an invitation be sent to Nassa to attend our next management meeting.

Did every one receive magazine and calendar? Two companies were used and every thing did not come back at the same time. Thus having a knock on effect keeping track of distribution. If you missed out contact Pennine and they will supply you with one or both.

10. Ken gave an outline on the report he had handed out ASB. As we have been told on previous occasions No names can be disclosed or specific incidents, because of this stipulation it can be hard to give an account of the meetings. However there is a vacancy on the group, Liz Stephens no longer attends, Leslie was interested and may speak to Ken later.

11. Conference update The Theme this year a general knowledge quiz plus group activities, an opportunity to show what groups are involved in ( arts and crafts etc.) This will be on October 21stin the Kings Church.

12. An invitation to Pennine to visit Parliament with some tenants. A decision was made to invite Area Chairpersons, Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer of the Fed, a Tenant Board Observer, 4 Tenants from Rossendale, and 5 Pennine staff.

It was a chance of a life time. We were shown around by our Parliament Representatives and had the procedures and rituals explained to us as well as seeing the wonderful masonry carvings, paintings, wood panelling that lined most of the corridors, this was more than most expected. This was Training towards Democracy.

Questions arose concerning who paid for the trip?

Money is set aside for training within the budget plan.

13. Speakers for the next special meeting, Val has asked if she can come to do a Service Standards Review. Stuart Lambert from the buyers group would like to speak about synergy. (Buying power) It was thought that someone else could explain this topic better and Amanda Garrard was suggested. Sheila to contact. Another idea was to bring someone from TPAS to give their views on why Federations are falling down. It was agreed that Keith and Iris should attend Northern area Conference on February 7th 2006

14. Why his the sound system not been used? Eric Sutcliffe has said in the past that he would need help with the transporting and setting up this equipment, because of the bulk and weight as he finds it hard to do this on his own.

Meeting closed 8-50pm

Date of the next meeting 22nd February.
