Matters Arising.
4 Minutes from the August Management meeting.
Information only

a. Buyers Group. Sheila and Keith went to this meeting and took our concerns to them. i.e. lack of choices We were also invited to attend a tile presentation. b. Tom Miskell it was felt that we should keep in regular contact with him like we had with DP, then any issues which are not solved through proper channels can be brought to his attention.

c. Sheila was thanked for her reports to the fed. d. Web Site when Iris returns from Holidays we will arrange another meeting about this. e. We had two responses from people who wanted to be on the management committee. A written vote was taken and Don Mclean is now back on the team.

5. Steven Batley. Choice based lettings

We were told this is the way properties will be let in the future. The government says this is a fairer way of allocating properties. There are already 27 pilot schemes running some are not far from Calderdale. It was suggested that we should go to visit one or some of them to gain a better understanding of how they operate. We shall be hearing much more about this subject in the near future.

6. Outcome of Group funding revue

A top up payment of £100 will be given to groups who have difficulty getting to meetings because of distance and or cost. This payment will be reviewed. At the moment it is a one off.

7. Reward scheme panel revue.

This scheme will not go ahead. Most tenants did not agree with what was proposed for it. However an occasional incentive scheme could be implemented.

8. Voids

Audrey Waterhouse asked about the length of time some properties remain empty, we was told that Electricians Plumbers and Gas fitters are very stretched at the moment doing Essential Safety Checks. Properties cannot be offered until all this work is done. Voids will be under discussion at Area committees in a different format.

9. Web site charges

It was necessary to bring this item to the Meeting because there is a registration fee that is normally paid annually. Val's husband has found us a good deal which will cost the fed. £40 for a two year subscription. it was agreed we should to pay this cost.

10. Any other business

Sheila said there are to be a number of community events being arranged in Calderdale. Iris thinks that the fed should be represented at these if we are to raise our profile. They will be spread over a 10day period between the 12th and 28th September. As this will be quite a large commitment of our time because there are only a few of the management team who are able to attend on our behalf we would appreciate some help from members.

This meeting closed at 9.10pm
